Open Call for Artists
Other application deadlines
1st Round -July 22, 2021
2nd round - August 12. 2021
Let's invade public space.
Participate with cryptoart, poetry, video art, painting, video dance, photography, visual poetry, short films, illustration, design or any other digital medium that can be projected, in our ongoing Open Call for Artists.
Participation Guidelines

- Image or video must be a minimum of 800 pixels in resolution. Projector size is 1200x800 pixels.
- Please take into consideration that images or videos that have very fine details and low contrast density will not work for projection on a wall in public space. For example, thin line drawings, won’t be visible when projected.
- In the case of poems, short texts, quotes and other forms of written works please send them in verses that do not surpass 5 words per line. The text needs to be easily readable from a distance. It is recommended that you select short texts that can be read in less than a minute for it to appropriately work in public space.
- All artworks sent must be adequately identified with the following information: “Name of the artwork, name of the artist, year” Alternatively you can also include your webpage. This information will be placed next to the image of each work sent.
- All artworks must be sent to hello@gargantua.studio in a single folder labeled with the artist’s name. The subject of the email should be” YOUR NAME”-GARGANTÚA-“MONTH” 2021

It is important to understand that our main medium is light projection and as such, the quality of your artwork will differ from your computer screen to a wall in public space where we cannot control ambient light and surfaces.
Having this in mind, please follow the guidelines and recommendations for sending participation proposals to Gargantúa Guerrilla-Projektion Magazine.

- Once artists proposals have been submitted, they will be reviewed by Gargantúa as part of the selection process. Selected artists will receive communication confirming their participation.
- The works selected for the Gargantúa edition will be mounted on a video suitable for projection in public spaces, which may be screened in one or more cities around the world through our guerrilla projection collaborators programme.
- By sending us your artwork proposals for Gargantúa Guerrilla-Projection Magazine, it is understood that your are consenting the use of the artwork to be projected one or more times in public space, as well as the use of video and photo documentation of the guerrilla projections containing your artwork for promotional purposes on websites and social media.
- Please take into consideration that images or videos that have very small, fine details and low contrast density will not work for projection on a wall in public space since many fine details in the projection will lost. For example, thin line pencil drawings, will be hard to see from a distance on a projected wall. In case we encounter images/videos with this problem, we will let you know.

- Language: written word works and subtitles are welcome in any language, it would be a plus if they also have a German, English or Spanish translation when you send them given the diversity of our audience.
